A group in Imo State, has called on Governor Hope Uzodinma, not to accept the recommendation of IMSU Visitation Panel, which recommended #90,000 as tuition fees for students in the university.

Publicity Secretary of the group, Fidelis Echendu, who said the recommendation won’t be possible based his opinion on the economic downturn in the country triggered by the coronavirus pandemic.

According to him, with salaries of some workers in the state who are also parents unpaid and salaries not coming regularly, N90,000 per semester was unacceptable and not possible.

It could be recalled that a Panel chaired by former Vice-Chancellor, University of Nigeria, Nsukka, Prof Chinedu Nebo, in its report to Governor Hope had stated there is a need to reintroduce tuition fees, and recommended N90,000 per semester.
