ABDUCTORS OF KANO CLERIC SHEIKH AHMAD DEMANDS N300M RANSOM

Abductors of a Kano-based Islamic cleric, Ahmad Sulaiman are said to be demanding N300m as a ransom for his release and that of five other persons kidnapped along with him.

Ahmad, a famous Quranic reciter and chairman, Kano state Council of Prerogative of Mercy, was kidnapped Thursday, along Sheme-Kankara highway in Katsina State as they were all returning from a programme held in Sokoto.

In an interview with newsmen, a member of the family, Ismail Bunyaminu, confirmed that the abductors had established contact with the family adding that  efforts were being made to raise the huge amount in addition to reaching out to the Kano State government the Islamic society.
