FG SIGNS CONSUMER PROTECTION ACT

President Muhammadu Buhari has signed the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Act (FCCPA) 2019, which will replace the Consumer Protection Council (CPC) Act.

The president during the signing said the act seeks to end rights violations by goods and service providers whiling putting in place fines in excess of N200 million.

He further said the law applies to all commercial activities taking place in Nigeria including federal and state government corporations and parastatals aimed at making profit.
