GOVERNOR WIKE ACCUSES ARMY OF INTERFERING IN POLLS

Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike has condemned what he described as the negative roles played by the Nigerian Army during the 2019 general elections, which he said is the worst in the history of the country.

In a statement by his special media aide, Simeon Nwakaudu, the governor formally requested for the redeployment of the General Officer Commanding ( GOC) 6 Division, Jamil Sarhem, whom he accused of disrupting the general elections in Rivers State.

Governor Wike while granting audience to the Nigerian Army Committee on Electoral Violence during the recent polls took time to enumerate the areas where soldiers allegedly unleashed violence on Rivers people while listing the names of Army Personnel who was said to have led the operations.
