IG OF POLICE REVEALS THREATS TO NIGERIA’S SECURITY

The Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, has described human trafficking and migrant smuggling in Nigeria are major threats to national security.

Adamu spoke in Abuja at a workshop organised by Interpol to counter slavery and migrant smuggling in Nigeria where he said that Africa has been experiencing an increase in the issue of trafficking in persons and smuggling of migrants across borders.

The IGP promised that his leadership will continue to support relevant agencies while strengthening its capacity towards addressing the threat of human trafficking.

Meanwhile, the police force announced the commencement of an Anti-Human Trafficking Section which will be headed by a commissioner. DAILY POST
