INEC TO HOLD NASS ELECTIONS IN RIVERS STATE

Written by on March 7, 2019

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has said that supplementary elections for some National Assembly positions in Rivers will hold on Saturday, alongside the Governorship and State House of Assembly elections.

The INEC Head of Voter Education and Publicity in Rivers, Edwin Enabor, in a statement in Port Harcourt yesterday, explained that the supplementary polls followed the alleged violence which occurred in certain areas during the Presidential and National Assembly elections on the 23rd of February.
Enabor, in his statement, called on all registered voters in the affected areas to come out en masse to vote for candidates of their choice.
It will be recalled that elections for two senatorial district seats and five federal constituency seats in Rivers were declared inconclusive at the end of the last elections.
