A number of employees of the Independent National Electoral Commission in Rivers State say they are considering applying for transfer to neighbouring states as a result of election violence which according to them, has always characterised every poll in the South-South state.

The INEC staff who expressed fear for the safety of their lives gave reasons saying that some areas like Emohua Local Government Council, in addition to some riverine areas had become very volatile following the alleged demise of an ad hoc worker, Ibisaki Amachree, during the elections

Some other staff, in agreement to the statement, added that a Majority of them were considering applying for transfer from Rivers State to any other state close to it because of the cases of violence recorded in the state while alleging intimidation from politicians and security forces during the election.
