NIGERIA DECIDES 2019: MUSLIM GROUP WARNS US, EU, UK AGAINST INTERFERING WITH ANNOUNCEMENT OF RESULTS

Written by on February 26, 2019

A religious group, Muslim Rights Concern, MURIC, yesterday cautioned foreign embassies in the country against interfering in the ongoing announcement of election results by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.
In a statement signed by its Director, Ishaq Akintola, the body said they were reliably informed that a former Nigerian high commissioner has been contracted by some political parties to spread false propaganda among foreign envoys with a view to discrediting the electoral process.
INEC is currently announcing the results of the Saturday’s presidential and parliamentary elections.
However, MURIC urged ambassadors of United States, US, United Kingdom, UK, and the European Union, EU, in Nigeria not to allow themselves to be used as tools by looters and deceptive politicians.
