ANAMBRA POLICE ARRESTS SEVEN FOR VOTE BUYING

The Anambra police command says it has arrested seven persons for ballot snatching and disruption of the electoral process, as well as a two armed police men of mobile Police Force on illegal duty.

In a statement the commissioner of police, Rabiu Ladodo, who confirmed the incident also reported of an alleged abduction of a presiding officer and a youth corps member in Ndiokolo unit, Orumba North LGA of Anambra South Senatorial Zone.

He said the cases have been transferred for investigation at the State CID, Awka adding that effort is being intensified to rescue the abducted persons and bring perpetrators to justice.

Ladodo added that the command, in the process of arresting some suspects had recovered one mini van, two motorcycles, the  sum of N110,920.00,two handbags containing dry leaves suspected to be Indian hemp and two knives.
