APC REJECTS PRESIDENTIAL, NASS RESULTS IN CROSS RIVER

Written by on February 28, 2019

The Cross River Chapter of All Progressives Congress (APC) has rejected the results of last Saturday’s Presidential and National Assembly election in the state.

APC said this yesterday in a statement by the State Publicity Secretary Bassey Ita in Calabar that the rejection is justified by the gross discrepancies which supposedly trailed the conduct of the poll by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

He accused INEC of manipulating the process in favour of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) adding that the commission was hasty in announcing and declaring results in cases in the Northern, Central and Southern Senatorial Districts whereas election was still being held.

Ita, in his statement alleged that the APC won massively but was rigged out by the commission in collaboration with PDP. He called on the INEC headquarters in Abuja to verify the results from the state with a view to addressing the alleged fraud.
