ELECTION OBSERVERS CALL FOR INVESTIGATION OF ATTACK ON COLLEAGUES

Observers who monitored Saturday’s elections in Enugu State, have called on the Federal Government and other agencies to investigate the brutal attack and assault on one of their colleagues in Igbo-Eze North Local Government Area, by supporters of a candidate.

It was recently reported by members of Global Policy Advocate and Leadership Initiative, accredited by INEC as observers, that they were attacked at the residence of Ayogu Eze of the All Progressives Congress, when they paid him a visit to verify his alleged boycott of the election.

As a result of the injury sustained from the attack, it was also reported that the leader of the Team, Amaka Offor, fell seriously sick and fainted just a few meters away from the Enugu Police Command, immediately they were granted bail.
